This story starts about two years ago. I had used the same audiologist for over 15 years. Due to the economy and rising gas prices, I decided it was time to choose a local audiologist in my hometown. I decided to make an appointment with Dr. Susan Gore, who at that time was finishing up her doctorate degree. This was a major decision factor because I felt she would be more familiar with the current technology as it relates to hearing aids. I come from a family where the gene for hearing impairment is dominate on the paternal side and the hearing impairment is profound. My current hearing aid allowed me to function in a normal world, but it was also 7 years old. My impairment is unique because what usually works for everyone else doesn't work for me. After trying many hearing aids, I have found the Velocity 24 by Sonic Innovations is the newest "EAR" on the market. Dr. Gore tried several fitting rationale and adjustments until we found one that was best for me. I was very selective and "stubborn" during this process, Dr. Gore stood beside me the whole way.
Dr. Gore never waivered in her commitment to make sure the patient was satisfied. She is to be commended for her dedication and her accomplishments in her career. It is doctors like this we need more of. I recommend Dr. Gore if you are considering new hearings. I'm sure you will not be disappointed.
